Barbara Grzegorzewska graduated from the Higher Foreign Languages Centre of the University of Warsaw and Cours de Civilisation Française (Sorbonne). She started translating as early as her 4th year of studies, initially only from Polish into French. Her translations of Ireneusz Iredynski's Koniec stworzenia and Henryk Bardijewski's Odlot were produced by France-Culture, and translations of theatre plays were performed in France and Canada: Gry kobiece by Krzysztof Zanussi and Edward Żebrowski (Paris, Montreal), To Pick up the Rose by Andrzej Trzebiński (Paris),  Kreacja by Iredyński (Rouen, Paris). She has been translating from French into Polish since the end of the 1970s. She has translated more than 100 plays for the theatre by authors such as: Jean Anouilh, Nathalie Sarraute, Marguerite Duras, Jean Cocteau, Jean-Paul Sartre, Ionesco, Eric-Emmanuel Schmitt, Robert Badinter, Bernard-Marie Koltѐs, Yasmina Reza, Francis Veber, Gérald Sibleyras, Florian Zeller. Some of these plays have seen numerous stage productions, such as Yasmina Reza's Art and God of Carnage, Veber's Le Dîner de Cons, Schmitt's Partners in Crime, Enigma Variations,  Oscar and the Lady in Pink, Sibleyras' L'Inscription, Zeller's The Truth.

Awards and distinctions: Polish Translators Association Award (1993); ZAiKS Authors Association Award for outstanding achievements in translation of literature from foreign languages (2000); ‘Błękitna siódemka’ Award - SCENA 07 police community theatre prize (2006); nomination for the IBBY Honour List 2008 (in the translator category).

She was awarded the French Ordre des Arts et des Lettres (2014) and the 100th Anniversary of the ZAiKS Authors Association Medal (2018).
